Getting Lost Guide in Tokyo II- Shibuya

After writing my first Getting Lost Guide in Tokyo post, I introduced you about Harajuku, where is the heart of Tokyo Fashion and Hipsters culture.

In this second one I am going to show you...

Shibuya,

very close to Harajuku. One of the fashionable spots in Tokyo, if Harajuku is a street fashion sacred place, Shibuya is well-known for their high-street local fashion.

This dog called Hachikō ハチ公, who is remembered for his remarkable loyalty to his owner which continued for many years after his owner's death. He had been waiting for his owner near the Shibuya station until he finally met his owner in heaven in 1935. For memorial this cutie, people built this status, which became a landmark in Shibuya nowadays.

'Super Gals!', a famous Manga/ Cartoon based in Shibuya. Hachiko always appearance.

One of movies based on Hachiko

Familiar? This is the famous view which always appears as a Tokyo impression from movies to comics.

Japanese communication design is one of the top in Asia, Ad filled in every corner, futuristic digital screen as part of the building, which make the city so alive, so vivid.

I've been to Japan for a few times. As an non-EU, it is as common as English people go visit Paris for holiday.

Tokyo is always popular for the world. Tokyo is a shopping paradise especially to Asian people. Japanese really know how to sell their products. All the famous global, local brands and cartoon characters all provide variously products and get into a habit to release limited edition products to fulfil the curiosity of the market, which not just make local but the rest of Asia obsessed about.

Although most of the local brands are well-known in other countries, Japanese company keep patent to local. Most of the best Japanese products are just release in Japan. Exported products are always not as good as the local one. I think this is very smart...

'Tsumtsum', popular mobile games in Asia recently.

Tower Record is a huge record store, sell everything related to music and video.

Never miss the bottle/ can of Japanese drink when you are in Japan.

Thanks for reading my words. Hope you enjoy this post, please let me know how do you think so Al Heaology can be better every time! GLG in Tokyo III will be announce next week. If you haven't read GLG in Tokyo I, please have a look here. ;)

Getting lost Guide in Tokyo I- Harajuku

'I really want to see Japan one day!'

I heard it thousand times in my 25 years... I know it is far from Europe or America or wherever you're from... But there's really no need to make Japan sound like the Bermuda Triangle.

Meanwhile bloggers brought you countless sunshine paradise pics from South-east Asia, I think it is time for me to show you a far more east and futuristic cosmopolitan style.

Tokyo is one of the dream destinations, I actually don't need to mention:

Its unique culture, famous tradition and Sushi are well-known to the world.

Tokyo is a compact, high-tech city, with various transportation. Very convenient to go place to place, lots of the must-go places are even on the same JR line--- Yamanote-sen.
From this post, I will show you Big Four places you need to visit in Tokyo--- Where it's too vivid not to get lost!

Harajuku, probably the most fashionable place in Japan. Which is from the biggest international, local brands to small local vintage store.

Once you left the train station, Takeshita-dori is the street which is like an entrance to bring you into this Harajuku's world.

FYR the second right is a famous cartoon in Asia. And the third next to Hello Kitty is Peko: Milk girl from sweet.

It is not difficult to see youngsters (Even middle age men or women) dressed in their own way. Whatever you are wearing--- Cartoon style, Lolita (A fashion subculture originating in Japan that is based on Victorian-era clothing) or Visual Rock style......

The peace and respect for their fashion senses is all in the atmosphere.

Not many foreigners know, the soul of Harajuku, is the place called Ura-Harajuku, is the common name given to the network of smaller Harajuku backstreets spreading perpendicular to Omotesando, corresponding on official maps of Shibuya ward as Jingūmae 3 chōme and 4 chōme.

Contrasts with the main retail offerings of Harajuku, which contain the best of most local famous independent shops and dining options. Some people who work in this area, are famous stylists, sellers who are respected by lots of locals as a fashionable icon. Who have been interviewed by different magazines, TV shows, and even have their huge fans base.

Thousand of fashion magazine reporters are hunting hipsters for snap shots on the street. Snap-shooting happens all the time in Tokyo. Harajuku is the hottest spot. How big? Click on one of the big websites style-arena .

Sometimes, you have no idea what's so good about the person they took photos of... (Like the photo above...) But I highly admire the small details they aware of.

Design Festa, An art gallery in Harajuku

We have a very dark eyes so we would like to change our eye colours even with some little details like that.

Thanks for your reading! (Big hug<3) What do you think of Japan? I will be back next week to show you more about Tokyo. :)

A Motion Sickness Cure

When you go on an exciting but low-cost road trip, you know you will suffer, but it is stupid to say no...

Wild Kangaroo, I can suffer for that...

I remember I took 12 hour road trip with 3 lovely people, back seat leg area was filled by massive luggage. The Australian dry heat weather was challenging my body every second...

Found Alice in North Wales- Llandudno

Yesterday, I saw a white rabbit and I fell in to a rabbit hole...

Does anyone know Llandudno is actually well-known for Alice in Wonderland?

'Llandudno’s wonderland links stretch back to 1861 when the young Alice Pleasance Liddell (the real Alice in Wonderland) aged 8 years old first holidayed in the ‘Queen of the Welsh resorts’ Llandudno. Her holiday home ‘Penmorfa’ was built on Llandudno’s West Shore where the family holidayed for many years. '

My 92 days in Llanes- Visual Diary

3 months ago I flew from a big city Hong Kong where I can hardly see the sky without skyscrapers and no horizon. A day after, I arrived to the medieval town on the cliffs, with no buildings taller than 5th floor.

I am very lucky and blessed.

€0 to bring you back to Medivial in Oviedo

Oviedo, where located in north west Spain. A capital city in Asturias, where there's the heart of culture and religion in its region.

Yes, follow me it costs you nothing to have a rich historical & cultural experience in Oviedo. What you need is just a pair of good shoes for a long days walk and a foot massage after.

Gigi Hadid

If you ask who is my recently favourite model, the answer is her. Not Cara Delevingne anymore. But Miranda Kerr is my all time favourite :D

5 things a Newbie should know

This is a post especially for a fresh blogger who (Maybe lets say counting by followers…) is a newbie and has less than 200 followers. As I was just not too new but old yet. These are my tips for confused newbies, I hope it helps as I think its good to give something back.

Its so exciting to see the notification on bloglovin’ recently, stepped into my 3rd month as a blogger, I reached 100 followers! And a week after, reached 200! Unbelievable! You guys are amazing! Thanks so much!!!!!

'I know... I've been telling myself at the end of the day this is just a number…’, but I'm so happy to accomplish something I worked hard to get. I know compared to numbers of bloggers who get maybe a thousands followers a day, it makes me seem very small, but if you Imagine 200 people in front of you, it is retry impressive to be happy for already.

21 days to being a better Yogi

At the end of every month and every year, I like to review what I did and what I want to achieve next, and hopefully, I break my bad habits. I am very into that kind of self revolution plan, but planning and achieving are totally different to each other. I am not good at achieving, not at all.

However seriously I plan, I have no confidence to actually do it, until one day, for the very first time I finally achieved what I want to do successfully, my confidence started come back.

(The talking:)
It was my exercise revolution a few years ago, I joined the 21 day fitness challenge from The Yoga Journal , it was free and easy! The 21-day program offers guided yoga video practices; nutrition tips and recipes; learn about yogic lifestyle. I purposely fell into this like a religion. I transformed my mind to do yoga like a routine as natural as eating a meal--- You don't stop your meal because you feed yourself every day. And so, I did yoga for half and hour a day, six days a week for 21 days no matter what. I was very surprised how a good habit can start in such a simple way.

(The actually-doing:)
At the beginning, I felt exhausted, my body just doesn't move smoothly. My knees were tense especially when I did the Down-ward-facing-dog,  for the Sun Salutations, I moved like a robot, I was acting so stupid that I missed lots of poses, they were too fast for me (Or I was too slow?). 'Is it too hard for me to do tomorrow?' I thought to myself.

After a fews days, the miracle unfolded. I could actually notice my body move faster and although I could not do more advanced poses, I could do the simpler ones correctly; and work muscles correctly. I started to understand more of what those yoga theories mean. Something like "Your body learns every time you do the practice"; "Take it easy, do not push yourself too hard, just do however you can reach for that moment"; "When the time come, you will notice it."

After 15days, halfway though the challenge, I found myself finally moving as smoothly as the girl on the video. Even though I still could not reach my toes, I learnt not to push it too hard because I believe I can do it one day. I sweated loads during the practice, my breathing was getting heavier by doing so much core work, but I felt energised and very satisfied. I felt so happy from the inside out.

After 21 days, of course I felt so happy and satisfied that I completed the challenge. As committed to do yoga 21 days in a row, and actually did it. I got my confidence back and was excited for any new challenge.

I found my favourite sport <3 YOGA!
Which is really one of the most effective, healthy ways to exercise your mind and body from the inside out (I learnt so much from it that I think I need to write a new post about how good yoga is.).

(Bad news)
Unfortunately The Yoga Journal closed the link for the 21 days challenge, you cannot do exactly what I did.

(Good news)
But If you want to start your 21 days challenge, why don't you make your own challenge? The Yoga Journal still get loads of video practises and deeper study of each pose.

If some of them seem too advanced for you, I found so many great videos and yoga instructions below, they offer different kinds of plans and suggestions for you to follow. You may not find the challenge I did exactly, but I think you can mix and match to make your very own timetable.

Just remember the principle rules of the challenge: Make sure you do it for about 30 minutes (Not too long that it will make you scared of them), about 5-6 days a week (Allow you to take a rest once or twice a week), then make it last for 21 days (21 is a magic number for growing a new habit). I am sure you will still achieve the same result like me!

Time flies. It's the end of April

When I saw it, I realised I'm already half way through this journey in Spain. I don't want the time to go so quickly. I can't wait to see England, but I love the small house for just the two of us.

(This is a photo post)

Korres

The first week I arrived here, instantly I can feel the weather difference between this Spanish town--- Llanes where will be my home for 3 months and the south east Asian city--- Hong Kong, where I came from a few days ago.

It was March during nearly the end of winter in Spain, 10 degrees is kind of freezing for me who gets used to feeling cold in 20 degrees back home.  Also, I felt the skin is going dry and the tightness around my eyes made it a bit hard to wink, because here is colder, and drier too!

Some people don't like the humidity make your skin sweat and oily, but my skin is the opposite, dry weather make it looks old and is scary for me. Thats the reason why my body lotion finished in such a short time.

One day I found the brand Korres in town, its beautiful design caught me at first sight.

Charlotte Gainsbourg

I am going to post the picture I draw for people I like every week (Like a promise with myself), the first week is her--- Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The daughter of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. You might say, the genes from two huge stars, she couldn't be too bad. Really? So many so-called second generations who are spending their whole life to grab the limelight to get the attention they think is their birthright.

Can you name some of them? Or you disagree about what I said? I would like to know what you think.

Sophia + Cinzia

They are pictures I drew for Sophia + Cinzia, which one do you like most?
